Review of Nazarín (1959) by Juha R — 10 Nov 2007
Bunuel, the great atheist, made one of the most beautifully spiritual films ever made that is right up there with Bresson's 'Diary of a Country Priest' and Tarkovski's 'Andrei Rublev'.
Francisco Rabal gives a heart-breaking performance as a priest who is forced to leave his church behind and try to be pure and innocent in a chaotic world.
