Review of My Little Chickadee (1940) by Masorad ( — 10 Sep 2009
There's a bitter, black heart at the controls of this West-Fields vehicle. The expendable plot merely provides opportunities for duping and being-duped, it's the Character of the two principals that matters.
It's rare to see such an unsentimental, cynical and predatory view of life in a Hollywood comedy, but the film is made by those who know the saps from the shills and laughs can be had at the expense of both.
