Review of Murphy's War (1971) by Gerard B — 05 Feb 2018
Enjoyable movie which allows Peter O'Toole to demonstrate his ability to play eccentric, tempestuous characters. Not a typical war movie and all the better for it but it still reminds us of the ruthlessness of the Germans even in seemingly innocuous environments.
As the mad Irishman, however, Murphy is more than able to put them in their place.
