Some say this movie is pretentious because of all of it's metaphors. They think this movie thinks it is intelligent when it's not. It's not an "intellectual" movie as Inception or something like that, it is a statement about the situation of the envoirment and women in our society.
It's presentation is based in shock, it concentrates everything women are obligated to experience in our society in a way that feels like a punch in the face, put this punch is not the point of the movie as most think, the punch is a way to involve us in the real plot of the movie, to make us care about it.
And actually everything connects, it's just that some people don't want to see further. This movie acts like a poem. Do you hate poems or something?? Maybe you are the pretentious one.
