Review of Mother (2016) by Z K — 16 Oct 2017
When a movie brings you on an emotional rollercoaster, you know it's a movie done well. If there was anyway to describe the genre it would be psychological horror. Cinematically it is beautifully shot and is definitely worth seeing in the cinema alone for the visual and aural impact.
For me, the only thing that cheapened it was the aftermath. In particular seeing the director overly explain the allegory. If I had read those articles on the movie prior I am not sure I would have been able to receive the movie with such ambiguity.
Overall, it's a movie I can see myself rewatching and that alone is something rare.
