Review of Miss Potter (2006) by Gabriela L — 11 Apr 2009
A beautifully told story of Beatrix Potter's life, including all of it's ups and downs, along her rugged path to becoming a world renown writer. Potter's life is a milestone in feminism that is under appreciated and under taught in schools.
In a time where a woman's only preoccupation in life was marriage, Potter completely struck out on her own and followed her heart into drawing and writing. The settings and costumes in the movie are really well done and as a result Potter's love of nature truly shines through.
The animated special effects are cute little additions to the often emotional scenes. I'm really curious to learn more about Potter's life now and would love to someday visit the countryside that she loved so much that she had it preserved!
