If you are looking for a fluff film with pretty people and minimal substance, Miss. India America is your film. With characters that are shallow in every sense of the world and the insufferable world of pagents and beauty queens there is little to recommend it.

It's not all bad however, if nothing else, there is the fact that an American film focuses on Indo-American women to celebrate. There are also a few jokes that don't fall flat and some lovely moments of Indian culture meeting American culture in a beautiful fusion.

Mostly though, it is a film that is weighed down by conventions, stereotypes and rom com baggage.
