Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Justin W — 21 Mar 2009
I'll be honest. I typically can't stand Spike Lee films. Inside Man was ok, but that was it. Having said that, and not being pretencious or ignorant of History (like some who reviewed this movie ...) I thought this movie rocked.
The fact that some people couldn't follow all the story lines tells me there are alot of dumb people in this country. Your mind is powerful enough to keep track of so much more than three major story lines/plots you fucking idiot.
Anyways, this is a gritty movie that's transcends a normal Action-Drama-Rising Action-Plot-Climax movie. And it is shot in the weirdest/most interesting angles. But it adds a depth of realism I haven't felt from a film ... well ... since Saving Private Ryan back in 1998.
I reccomend this to any and everyone!
