Review of Midnight Son (2011) by Andrew L — 27 Sep 2012
This is a really good movie. It is refreshing to see a vampire movie that attempts to be realistic. The movie brings forth the idea of how life would be like if you were a vampire in real life. You'll live in a basement, work the night shift, and have an extreme thirst for blood.
While some moments in the movie are cliche, those are necessary points to make while the main character struggles to live his life as a vampire. There is a romance aspect that plays off well and kind of has a Beauty and the Beast element to it that adds drama but not to the point to where it is cheesy.
The acting by Zac Kilberg is very good. For most of the movie you see him pondering what he should do next, and his facial expressions give the viewer a good idea how the character is feeling. Definitely worth the rent.
