Review of Mephisto (1981) by Sanna A — 12 Feb 2008
The first time I saw this film in my twenties, I found it repulsive. Now that I saw it again, I found the main character understandable and even sympathetic. The film shows well how one can't collaborate with a totalitarian system and remain apolitical at the same time.
I don't give more than four stars because the film was too long.
