Review of Mausam (2011) by Dave H — 22 Sep 2011
This was one movie I was waiting to watch as the promos looked promising. Shahid looks dashing as an Air force pilot and I thought it would be a heart-warming romantic story with an old world charm to it.
Alas I was disappointed. I waited patiently and said to myself it will all come together and make sense in the end. But that didn't happen. It is a love story over a period of time against the backdrop of various random terrorist acts...I just didn't get the connection between the two. Neither the violence of terrorism nor the love story leave any lasting impact.
Shahid is a talented actor, but this movie doesn't do any justice to his capabilities.
The movie is slow paced and seems stretched out. Maybe if facebook was invented sooner and the protagonists would be on it then it would save them the time of finding each other and us from watching a boring movie. ;-).
