Review of Marrying the Mafia (2002) by Duncan L — 03 May 2008
South Korea?s one of the best box office hits, Marrying the Mob can be funny but not all the time. The plot is somewhat ridiculous but what pull it off are the performances from the actors themselves.
Waking up with a beautiful stranger is one thing, but knowing that he has to take responsibility for sleeping with her is too much. Not unless she?s the daughter of Korea?s top mobster. It takes 3 brothers to make this happen for the sake of their sister?s happiness and someone who isn?t from the mob as well.
As I mention before, the plot is somewhat silly and ridiculous. The way it is told can?t really be done at all but what?s funny are the expression of the actors involve here. The culture of Korea may confuse you a bit (you do need a little bit of reading), but it won?t be long how nice this movie would be after watching half way from it. The music is nice though. An alright comedy love story.
