Review of Marketa Lazarová (1967) by Eli F — 19 Dec 2007
This film was voted the best film ever in the czech republic in 1988.
I do not have the experience to judge any different. What I can say about this film is that only in Eastern Europe do they produce films like this. A wide-screen medieval epic film that lasts well over 2 hours set in the 13 th century based around two rival families.
This film needs to be watched more than once to fully understand what is going on.
