Review of Maniac Cop 2 (1990) by Andy C — 23 May 2014

With the pain of the first instalment a fading memory of a few years back now I watched the second only to be surprised by a increased quality of B movie here. Some intense action sequences (taxi attack specifically) are inventive and approaching the level of competency you'd see from the heights of the horror mainstays.

That being said the undead killer cop (essentially Jason in a police uniform) has a rather odd motivation. I'm not entirely sure that a good cop framed for murder leading to his death in jail would really come back and murder, in many cases, good cops unconnected to his framing as revenge.
