Review of Madame Bovary (2015) by Lilian L — 08 Sep 2017
Admittedly, I've never read Madame Bovary but that didn't stop me reading the wikipedia article after I watched this movie. If you're a huge fan of the book, maybe just skip this. From the info I got, Emma was a really complex, interesting character whereas from this movie I got "woman needs attention and expensive dresses".
Her turn to religion after her affair was omitted, as was any mention of her having a child. Charles was little more than a background character too. Honestly the best part about this flop was Ezra Miller's hair.
