As the last monologue in the movie explains, the movie is about why revisiting your past should be done with caution. Often times our perception of the people and events of the past have been coloured to make it easier for us to live with the past. Searching out the past may not yield the results you want or, more importantly, the results you need.
Toni Colette is excellent in the role.
Definitely worth the watch.
