Review of Lourdes (2009) by Juan V — 02 Feb 2011
Stirringly moving film that seeks a human reasoning of peoples faith in pilgrimages. So tender and enigmatic and expertly embodied by its cast. The camera acts as a fly-on-the-wall mostly on the characters.
..gossiping busy bodies who pass under-the-breath comments; unsatisfied and yearning care-workers; arrogant, stubborn priests; heartful, caring and vulnerable elders, and of course the sweet, blissful and sometimes ambiguous lead character, Christine.
