Review of Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World (2006) by Meg R — 27 Jan 2007
Not one of Brooks' best, I'm sad to say. Really sharp humor tends to come out of friction -- between characters, between cultures -- and there wasn't enough here to generate a single watt of energy.
Every character surrounding Albert Brooks was so sweet, so accomodating, it made his usual neurotic whining seem merely ungrateful.
