Review of Locke (2014) by Jim B — 12 Sep 2014
The entire film takes place inside a car, yet our imaginations are coaxed into visualizing for ourselves an expansive story inhabited by memorable characters, rich in emotional depth, and filled with tense, exciting drama.
The end effect is an experience so vivid and multi-dimensional that it transcends anything traditional films have ever achieved. Tom Hardy delivers one of the best performances of his career -- he portrays a character deeply conflicted and complex, yet very much relatable, and with an intensity that rivals his portrayal of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
What an amazing and creative work of art.
