Review of Lisztomania (1975) by Justin B — 16 Mar 2009
It amazes me how this movie even got made. I can't even tell if this is a good or a bad movie, but for sheer entertainment value I give it 4 stars. Roger Daltrey riding a 8 foot phallus and a Frankenstein/Richard Wagner/Adolph Hitler robot hybrid killing machine are just two of many memorable moments.
Not a whole lot of substance here, but I doubt that's what Ken Russell was going for. And he must have somehow had a helluva a budget from the looks of it. Reminds me somewhat of "Phantom of the Paradise" but far more surreal.
