Review of Life Itself (2014) by Eric A — 29 Mar 2015
This is an amazing journey. I have wanted to read his book when it was released. His candor and approach to life is direct; and his admirers would not have it any other way. This film does not pull punches as you see him in the final stages of his life.
The reflexive quality in the hospital rooms could be like many other medical documentaries, yet Roger Ebert lets you know his approach to how he faces the odds is quite unique. At times I was uncomfortable for dealt with my fears about death, mortality, and how I would practically or impractically handle the situation.
All I have is admiration for him...because as you watch, you can not imagine the strength we could muster if we faced the inevitable. He lived , and by example tells us to do the same. The history is fascinating, the love heartwarming, and the insight brilliant.
All did justice to the documentary and Roger Ebert did justice to life itself.
