Review of La Commare Secca (1962) by Christopher S — 09 Jan 2009
Not as grim and sinister as the title suggests. the story by pasolini holds my interest, and bertolluci is still learning in his debut directorial effort. the way the film is structured, it doesn't build up curiosity for me to discover the killer (many giallos are more successful in this area) though the sequence of events of each suspect before the murder engages enough to keep my attention on the screen.
also, some hysterical acting outbursts which may seem a little over the top.
