Review of La Ciénaga (2001) by Sergio M — 25 May 2009

Nothing really happens, and yet you could be watching this movie until the end of time. if it wasn't for the "accident" at the end, this movie could last forever, they just had to stop at some point, that's it.

I love the "eternal holiday" atmosphere, with all the wine and the heat. i've never watched a movie that captured that feeling better than this. that feeling of the weather being so hot you can not do anything but lie on bed, bored, unable to move for the heat.

and the feeling of beeing force to sharing a house with relatives you don't necessarily like. just beautiful, and full of beautiful dirt, blood and scars.
