Review of Kung Fury (2015) by Nikola B — 04 Jun 2015
A hilarious spectacle that pays homage to the cheesy 1980s martial arts and police action movies. Kung Fury has a broad use of random cliches that make it unpredictable and impossible to fully apprehend on the initial viewing.
The movie's pacing is impeccable and offers a mixture of various comedic ideas that on first thought would not cope together very well.
Keeping in mind what the background story to the creation of the film is, a crowd funded picture, it uses completely and highly efficiently that with which it is offered. Thus, Kung Fury is a delightful little gem that provokes laughter, expands the imagination, and questions one's common knowledge and sanity.
