Yes, the story about the little boy and the man is quite sad indeed, but I find the social commentary to be hilarious. Pay attention to the attitudes of the Czechs towards the Russians. If you know a little Czech or Russian, the movie is even more humorous as some of the jokes hinge on the similarities/differences between the languages and the cultures of these two Slavic nations.
