Review of Kisses and Caroms (2006) by Marvin — 09 Jul 2008
A decent comedy "ohmage" to Clerks and Kevin Smith. The movie centers around a billiards store, the guy who owns it, and all his friends who work there. While very clerks-esque it is lacking the bouts of intellegent humor that elevate clerks above a simple work humor movie.
It's still a good film, and filled with references to kevin smith's work which add an extra level to the film that kevin smith fans will enjoy. I don't want to give them away but there's several(enough to make a drinking game out of it).
So if you like clerks and kevin Smith you might want to check out this comedy. And don't worry the references and general setup really only serve to pay tribute to Kevin smith, not outright copy his work(which is more than can be said for hollywood).
