Review of Kiss and Kill (1967) by Sean C — 14 May 2011
Terrible film; worst of the Lee Fu Manchu films. Nayland Smith is sidelined for most of the movie as he is blinded early on (not that Richard Greene is all that credible at his age to be globetrotting like he does) and his substitute action hero is lacking in charisma to sustain interest.
The master villain's plot is rather lackluster compared to some of his grander schemes in the past; dispatching poison lipped girls to kiss his enemies to death. Lee is always an impressive physical presence in these films, but he has little to do other then stare menacingly at the camera in various poses.
The movie is saddled with many silly characters especially a South American bandit that sinks the film whenever he's on screen.Jess Franco's direction is simply horrible here. The only highlight of this movie is the least seductive sexy dance every captured on film mid way through this movie.
