Review of King Jack (2015) by Adrian S — 13 Jun 2016
A punch-in-the-gut, emotionally cathartic coming-of-age tale about a young teenage boy navigating the harrowing terrain of adolescence in a small rural town in upstate New York. Reminiscent of David Gordon Green's George Washington, this debut film is a haunting evocation in mood, behavior, and interiority.
One of the best films of the year.
