Review of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) by Willie J — 05 Jun 2014
Filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino live inside their own worlds. When they write, when they direct, they don't care about what the audience will think. They execute their worlds with the utmost detail and care, because they are the auteur of their universe. "Kill Bill" is the product of a man who has always created the films he wants, coming out of his own head.
I'll admit, this film contains a lot of violence, stylized and brutal. It is not for everyone, but for those of who can handle it, this film is a haven. The fast pace, beautiful action sequences, and interesting heroine, all account for the enjoy-ability of the film. And, for you cinephiles out there, the score is absolutely perfection. The way it fits every situation it's applied to, is highly gratifying to hear and watch.
Tarantino has created a highly stylized, action-packed, revenge flick, that never ceases to entertain you.
