Review of Keoma (1976) by Louis D — 29 Nov 2007
Completely Bonkers, yet visually arresting Wopstern with Franco Nero as the titular half breed Injun. Of course this Injun blood doesn't stop him from being hairier than a yeti. At any rate he has to kill for justice.
The soundtrack is so outrageously awful it borders on transgressive art. Mostly an inept female singer warbles lyrics that explain exactly what's happening on screen. Occasionally Keoma himself will start singing in his head about what's going on.
What we end up with is a great action movie with a delightfully endearing crazy streak.
