Review of Keoma (1976) by Michael W — 18 Feb 2008
Franco Nero is impressivly hairy in this odd Spaghetti Western. The infamous soundtrack didn't bother me at first but it becomes more obnoxious as the film progresses and really hurts some good moments in the film. There's a lot of Peckinpah-ish slow-mo shots but they aren't often handled very well.
On the plus side Nero's character of Keoma is an interesting one and the plot is unique. There are some impressive sequences and good characters here and there. Overall it's OK and I give it credit for being unique.
