Review of Kalifornia (1993) by Alyssa N — 01 Jun 2008
This serial killer drama/thriller is suspenseful and disturbing while still being entertaining, though what really makes this movie fascinating is the characters, who are all extremely well-acted (with the exception of David Duchovny, who's still not too bad).
Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis transcend their characters' stereotypes with complex performances, and it's interesting to watch them interact with each other and their roadmates who are simultaneously enthralled and repulsed by them.
There may not be a lot new said about serial killers here, but the plot is so thrilling and the characters so engaging that this still should not be missed by any fans of the genre.
