Review of Joy Division (2009) by Ken R — 22 Jun 2008
Grant Gee's brief but heavy documentary on Joy Division is more accomplished than Control, the biopic of Ian Curtis. Interviews with the band, Tony Wilson, and various other folks shed light on just how revolutionary Joy Division was and what kind of person Ian Curtis was.
Most heartbreaking is seeing the band still get torn up almost 30 years later due to the loss of their one-of-a-kind frontman.
