Review of Johnny Tremain (1957) by Caitlin K — 27 May 2006
Movie does a good job of keeping important historical facts front and center. Unfortunately, much of book's richnes, and darker, shades, are cut away to make this more of a film for entire family, five year olds included.
As often the case, entire characters are omitted in interest of time and simplicity. On its own terms, though, fine film and worth seeing.
