Review of Jesus, Mary and Joey (2006) by Brian F — 27 Mar 2009
Excellent movie. We rented it just 'cause it had "Jesus" in the title, expecting to find it to be something hollywoodish, but it really was great. It appears that the director is alluding to something that happened to him or someone he knows in real life.
It demonstrates the struggle between religion and Jesus, how Catholics who find Jesus sometimes struggle to let go of tradition and hold unto love. It also challenges Christian tradition that doesn't believe in miracles.
