The "Z" in the title of this film is meant to suggest that it's a zombie movie. In fact, this film--whose plot, and sometimes even complete scenes, are completely predictable--has essentially nothing to do with either zombies or the entire genre.
The cleverest thing in it is straight out of The Blair Witch Project.
