Unknowable, mesmeric, an endurance test of the fascinating. One of those evenings in the cinema where it seemed impossible to look away. The ending in particular, as we wait for the film to end with Jeanne seem to stretch on forever leaving you uncertain if it should ever end, if it does ever really end.
One of the last great works of film still unavailable for you to see.
