Review of Ithaca (2015) by Jason T — 21 Apr 2017
This is a beautiful coming of age story set against the backdrop of WWI highlighting the loss of our presumed innocence as a nation and as individuals. The movie strives to teach us how to survive in a cruel world while retaining what is best about our families and ourselves.
Acted brilliantly, directed with stunning precision and tenderness, this movie can remind the viewer of a time when stories had depth, and characters were well drawn to inform and move us and not merely as vehicles for cg, quick edits and explosions.
