Review of Irresistible (2006) by Joe H — 15 Jan 2011
If you've never been introduced to Emily Blunt before this film is a good starter. She manages to make an otherwise snoozefest with geriatric versions of Susan Sarandon and Sam Neill into a close facsimilie of a classic Hitchcock mindfuck (excuse my French).
Is Blunt the villian? Is she the victim? Is Susan Sarandon the villain? Is she the victim? You'll be asking yourself this question until the very end when you realize how dark this film really is.
A vastly underrated and interesting film worth a few viewings just to take in Blunt's performance. She's going to be huge one day soon.
