Review of Invisible Waves (2006) by Ka Y — 22 Jul 2007
Disappointing for this fan of Last Life in the Universe. I think I would have been fine with it if Asano Tadanobu, who usually can do no wrong in my eyes, wasn't so poor during his english-speaking scenes.
The plot is slow and often confusing - some of this may be intentional, but with a story that's so mildly driven, there's no excuse for avoiding elaboration on minor points.
Hye-Jeong Kang was good but her character was never properly expounded so there is a clear disparity in the viewer's feelings towards her.
Where LLitU was surprisingly good with its multilingual approach, Invisible Waves is too forced and a much less satisfying affair.
