Review of Into Thin Air: Death on Everest (1997) by Kent L — 14 May 2006
Incredibly poor recreation of Jon Krakauer's stunning piece of literary journalism in which he told his story of climbing Everest in '96, when many more went up than came down. The film doesn't manage to develop the intricate characters and raise the harrowing moral questions about the climb that Krakauer's book is so famous for.
Indeed, even if the book wasn't such a classic, the film would still be horrendous it's that wooden.
