Review of Insecticidal (2005) by Luke B — 26 Apr 2008
What do you get if you let giant mutated bugs loose in a Sorority House full of barely clothed, sex obsessed girls? Well the answer is Insecticidal, a falling ever so slightly onto the so bad its bad school of B movie turd.
I can handle bad acting and ludicrous plot holes and twists but one thing I can't be doing with is poor CGI. The characters are more or less as you expect, bitchy head girls, stunning lesbian couple, jock boyfriends and our heroine the virginail geeky bug obsessed girl. This is reasonably entertaining and it has its gross out moments but trys to hard in places to show as much flesh as possible, not something I expected to say!, and comes across as quite forced. The death scenes are inventive in parts but again let down by bad CGI.
All in all it put the 90 minutes in well enough but not something I plan to see again, and I have seen worse in my time.
