Review of In the Custody of Strangers (1982) by Jon K — 20 Nov 2010
Just watched this for free OnDemand. What a film this was. The basic story line...a young, stupid kid growing up a small town USA gets in some trouble, locked up in jail for the night and while in jail a pervert in jail with him attacks him.
The kid defends himself, fights the guy off and then because of other peoples laziness and his own temper flairing the boy ends up in jail for weeks on end. 16 years old and he was put in a cell with adults.
This film starts out a lesson for kids as what NOT to do and ends up being a lesson for adults in that we need to talk to our children. Very moving, frustrating and a good film all around.
