Review of In Darkness (2011) by Khefren F — 25 May 2012
Nominated for Best Foreign Film at Oscars 2012, this film totally deserves it. The chief protagonist plays an anti-semitist, opportunistic thief, who evolves into a genuine Jewish sympathizer during the Holocaust.
This is simultaneously vivid and claustrophobic, simultaneously moving and terribly disturbing. A must-see. There are Polish, Ukrainian, German dialects in use; subtitles are a must. A+++.
