Review of Impromptu (1991) by Michelangelo S — 21 Jan 2008
The lives of Eugene Delacroix, Frederick Chopin and Franz Liszt are seen through the eyes of 19th Century Baroness and Writer LADY AURORA (pen name, "GEORGE SANDS"). Romantic entanglements, Duels, and the painful frustration of unrequited love are the hallmarks of what, for me, is the most ROMANTIC film I have ever seen.
There are many period Romantic pieces that bring so much beauty into cinema such as AMADEUS, IMMORTAL BELOVED, ORLANDO, etc., but this is the DVD that I carry with my CDs wherever I go.
