Review of I Like It Like That (1994) by Cristina M — 12 Apr 2008
There's just nothing about this wonderful little movie I don't love. Some reviewers took exception to Rita Moreno's "stereotypical" older Latina with her talk about her family's "pure Castilian blood," but those reviewers don't know how common that kind of phony elitism really is among many Hispanic-Americans (I will vouch for it.
) Lauren Velez, Jesse Borrego, Jon Seda and Griffin Dunne are all outstanding. In a nutshell: it could be called a Latino "Do The Right Thing," only I actually liked this better.
