Certainly the brilliant Caroll Spinney deserves a tribute in the form of an emotionally resonant, educational documentary such as this. With lots of intriguing insights and behind the scenes footage, there's plenty here to enjoy.

As a documentary film, however, I Am Big Bird's structure is a bit unorganized at times. There doesn't seem to be much of a concern in telling a compelling, fluid narrative so much as in hitting all of the important, informational beats that some producer (or perhaps the subject himself) decided upon.
