Review of Hondo (1953) by Jennifer B — 01 Jan 2011
Well paced and featuring some choice dialogue, the film is a good vehicle for John Wayne, who makes Hondo into one of his most memorable screen characters.
P.S. It's hard to see what Hondo sees in Angie-- she's shrill, homely, and kind of a whiner. It's also hard to see what the academy saw in Geraldine Page, who was nominated for an Oscar here.
