Review of Hellboy (2004) by Trevor R — 18 Apr 2013
So close to perfect, but it's still (most definitely) a fantastic movie. If a performance alone could sell you on a movie, put Ron Perlman on that list and I'm already sold. Here, he plays Hellboy with such grace, comfort and heroic effort that it's a real treat just simply watching him stand there before you on the screen.
His presence is massive in this film and he sells the character 100% of the time he's on-screen. The action's simple, yet very well-executed, and the effect are nothing short of spectacular. Hellboy is a real treat to enjoy.
