Review of Haze (2005) by Private U — 05 Aug 2008
Superb exercise in terror and claustrophobia. Movies like this have existed in the Asian market for years. Recently many regional elements have been trundled and and pirated by the Americans filmmakers like the Saw team, who have diluted extreme cinema and spooned it like broth into the minds of unsuspecting Juggalos softened by cheesy 80s schlock and ironic 90s slasher flicks.
The focus on atmosphere over inventiveness is especially refreshing.
